Meet the Team

Meet these High School level educators dedicated to preparing students for the rigor of High School.

English Instructor 

Mr. Fernando Ramirez

Fernando Ramirez is a former English instructor at St. Augustine High School with a strong background in education, writing, and media. During his time at Saints, he brought high energy to the classroom and quickly developed meaningful connections with his students. Mr. Ramirez now applies his English and communication skills in the world of media, covering the Los Angeles Chargers, San Diego Padres, and San Diego Wave for various outlets. He also writes for the San Diego Union-Tribune and works with NBC. Mr. Ramirez brings his real-world experience in journalism and communication into his teaching, helping students understand the value of strong English skills while preparing them for the academic rigor and expectations of high school.

Mathematics Instructor 

Mr. Andrew Hitchcock

Andrew Hitchcock is a mathematics teacher at St. Augustine High School with a passion for student success and faith-based education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a master’s in Educational Leadership, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on Christian Ministry. Mr. Hitch is the founder of Tutor Hitch, a platform designed to connect students with high-quality tutors. During his first two years of teaching middle school, he led the Diocese of San Diego with the highest percentage of students to earn scholarships to Catholic high schools.
